Auto-Warning Telltale

Based on our standard mechanical telltale, The Auto-Warning Telltale has been designed to provide a highly visible, immediate warning of excessive movement occurring in a rock-bolted tunnel or mine roadway

Two high-intensity flashing LED lights are configured to provide a warning once movement above an adjustable limit has occurred, making this product of particular value in dynamic mining and tunnel construction situations such as pillar extraction operations, where the workmen and equipment are operating close to a developing goaf, or in areas where visibility may be an issue

The TTAW has zero power consumption when not in alarm mode and therefore requires minimal service and maintenance, and can be inactive for a number of years and still operate successfully

Mechanical Telltale


Mechanical Telltales are low-cost, easy-to-install mine and tunnel roof safety monitoring devices designed to give clear, at-a-glance information about roof movement within and above the reinforced height

Ultra-visible reflective colour bands indicate the roof movement, and millimeter scales allow highly accurate monitoring of trends over time. The units have been developed to provide exceptional in-hole stability and water diversion to ensure reliable and precise information is being displayed

Also available as a triple-height version where long tendons are installed on drivage in addition to rockbolts, and as a cable-bolting version with longer anchor wires and an alternative colour scheme

Electronic Telltale


Electronic dual-height telltales designed to provide highly accurate but simple, low-cost monitoring of rock movements in mines and tunnels, and which can be read separately using the RRT-PR Portable read-out unit, or as part of a local or mine-wide system of strata monitoring and control

The unit utilizes a measurement principle that has no moving parts and is unaffected by water, providing exceptional longevity as well as our trademark accuracy

Available for multiple monitoring points within the strata, with optional visual reading indicators for roof or spring-loaded sensors for sidewall monitoring. RRT instruments can be easily daisy-chained in systems of up to 100 units linking into a local controller or a surface PC as required

Remote-Reading Telltale System


The RRTX system provides a platform for up to 400 telltales and/or extensometers to be combined into a low-cost mine-wide strata-monitoring system that provides real-time data on roof condition and trends throughout the operation

Up to 100 units can be connected along 4 separate lines using just a twin-core connection cable. Each line is connected to an underground interrogation and communications unit, which provide both local data and remote information to a surface or control room PC

The RRTX system software provides a user-friendly interface and allows for individual warning and action levels for each telltale, as well as trending analysis and data storage for compliance and planning purposes
